Level I (ages 8-up)
Each of these classes is one hour in length and expands on the primary
skill taught at the younger age. These classes are structured and
provide ample warm-up exercises, barre work, and teach combinations
utilizing the technique learned in class. In Hip Hop the dancer learns
a fast paced, high energy type of dance as seen in music videos and
commercials. The teacher will advise each student when to progress
to the next higher level.
Level II-IV (ages 8-up)
When dancers achieve the basics learned at the prior level, they
are then ready to advance to the second, third and fourth
levels. They must be proficient at each level before moving to the
next. Usually
these levels take about two years or longer to master. Most
dancers take more than one class of this type as he/she is eager to
learn
more than a single one hour class can accomplish. It is not
advised to move through the levels too quickly. If this is done, the
dancer
will not get the full value of that level, nor will he/she
have the muscle memory needed to progress. The teacher will advise
students
who are ready to change levels.
