Ryan Thomas
started dancing in Northern California at a competition dance studio. Later,
Mr. Thomas developed a passion for classical ballet when he began his
training towards becoming a professional dancer. During his training and
professional career he had the opportunity to dance with the Sacramento
Ballet, then Houston Ballet Academy where he danced with both the school and
company. Mr. Thomas later danced for several other professional ballet
companies including Oakland Ballet, Fort Worth Dallas Ballet, and Columbia
City Ballet on stages all over the world.
As a
professional dancer he was featured in several ballets including Nutcracker,
Cinderella, Romeo & Juliet, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, Diversion of
Angles, Serenade, Who Cares, Western Symphony, Rubies, Great Galloping
Gottschalk, Deuce Coup, and many original works from world renowned choreographers.
Ryan earned a BA in Dance performance from University of South Carolina, then
an MFA in Dance and Dance Education Technologies from University of
California Irvine. His passion for dance has transformed from performer into
dance educator, focusing on developing the next generation of dance
enthusiast, teaching Dance Improvisation, Choreography, Ballet, Modern, Pas
de deux, Gyrotonics, Dance Conditioning, Injury Prevention, Dance History,
and Dance Appreciation.
